The most difficult part of video creation is the acting. Unfortunately, JAC Robotics does not have the budget to
hire Hollywood actors to star in our video, thus, four of our crew members had to step up and sacrifice themselves
for the team and embody the parts of Adventure Time characters Jake the dog, Finn the human, and two students.
Our production Finding BMO follows the story of Jake and Finn as they embark on a journey to find pieces to fix
their broken robot, BMO. On their journey, the pair end up teleporting out of their cartoon to John Abbott
College. With the help of two JAC Robotics members, they are able to locate the whereabouts of the pieces they
require.
Coming up with the video concept was rather easy. The script was quickly written and edited a couple of times.
Then, a background for the cartoon portion of the video was drawn. The recording of the video took a total of
almost ten hours. Most of that time was spent rerecording the same scenes a dozen times because the amateur actors
we cast couldn't go a full scene without laughing. Nonetheless, the jokes and giggles are probably what the crew
enjoyed the most about the video creation process.
Along the way, the team had to learn how to edit videos as no one in the club has considerable experience in the
matter. We had to learn how to set up and edit green screen clips.
